BETULA is a 100% organic and carbon-neutral infill for artificial turf pitches—developed to meet the demands of both the environment and elite sports. Using timber from Norwegian forests as raw material, BETULA provides pitches with long service life, minimal environmental impact, and optimal playing experience.
About us
BETULA is developed by GOE-Ip—a Norwegian technology company with roots in the oil industry’s reservoir technology. After five years of research, BETULA was commercially launched by BETULA Technology as a sustainable, technically advanced, and locally produced alternative to rubber granulate.
Production takes place in Årdal in Ryfylke, and is carried out by BETULA using Norwegian timber and local labor. BETULA Technology aims to replant all forest used in production—for a circular and responsible value chain.
BETULA provides sports with an environmentally friendly and quality enhancement, and we collaborate closely with football associations, municipalities, and suppliers throughout Europe to make sustainable solutions available in the market.

Test hub
BETULA is installed at Sheffield FA Testhub in a project run by Football Foundation UK, sponsored by the English Premier League and the English Football Association. The project tests 6 of the market’s best new infill solutions. After 1 year, the pitch with BETULA has achieved among the 2 best results in the project. GOE-Production has collaborated with Lano Sports on the pitch in Sheffield. In 2025, several pitches in the United Kingdom will be installed with BETULA.
BETULA has an estimated service life of 15 years+, depending on use and maintenance. This matches the service life of most artificial turf pitches, and can in many cases last longer than traditional infill materials.
Yes. BETULA is FIFA-approved for both Quality Pro (elite football) and Quality (grassroots football). It meets the strictest requirements for playing quality, safety, and durability.
